ABOUT THE PROJECT
Inhale…pause…exhale.
MEREDIAN stretches over 25,000 sq.m., washed by the Mediterranean Sea on one side and hidden behind the rocky forest terrain of the Greek countryside on the other. The curvilinear lines of the architecture dictate the softness of the retreat center’s forms and slow living vibe intentions, while the warm beige hue allows the space to merge with the surrounding nature.
CONCEPT
The conceptual idea of the architecture revolves around the visual and structural characteristics of mushrooms and fungi. Mushrooms come in such a vast variety of shapes. These organic and non-linear forms contrast with typical rigid human-made geometry, offering fluidity, and a kind of natural elegance. It inspires curvilinear spaces that feel alive and connected to nature. The Meredian is a prime example.
